Obituary for Dixie Linkhart/Bradshaw
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm in Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Dixie Lee Reaux (Linkhart) Bradshaw Wilson, 81, who passed away on April 6, 2014 at 2:14 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by her family.
Marshall Clotiaux, Pastor of Living Faith Church will conduct the Memorial Service.
Dixie, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late Otto Joseph Reaux and the former Claudia Domingue. Dixie had a dancing family; she danced since the age of 12 in LA French dancing clubs. Since the age of 6 she wanted to be a teacher. She graduated with honors from Lafayette High School and was a Head Majorette. Dixie graduated with honors from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a retired school teacher from the Lafayette Parish School System who taught for 3 years at Port Arthur College.
Dixie had a wonderful life living in Louisiana, Texas, California, and Mississippi, traveling and dancing. She had a wonderful loving family and loved all of her students who made her feel that they loved her too.
She was married to John Linkhart for 25 years and married to Howard Bradshaw of Mississippi in 2010.
She is survived by her son, Chistopher Scott Linkhart (Scotty) and his wife Vanessa; her daughter, Angela Linkhart Venable; her half brothers Ronald Guess and Cecil Monty Guess; her five grandchildren, Demi Lee Venable, Zachary James Venable, Cameron Lee Linkhart, William Scott Linkhart and his wife Katie, and Angelle Faugot; her Cousin/Daughter, Claudette Domingue and her daughter Hannah Holder.
She was preceded in death by parents, her first and second husbands, her close cousin, Michael Stansbury.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 pm until the time of service.
