Obituary for Duffy Vincent
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Duffy John Vincent, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment will be held in Fountain Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Concelebrant will be Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette. Lectors will be Carolyn Bertrand and Noel Johnson. Gift Bearers will be Jennifer Campisi and Brittany Vincent. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the service.
Duffy Vincent was a native of Kaplan and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a district manager of sales for Western Union and also worked for the State of Louisiana, Department of Commissioner of Elections and retired at age 79. He enjoyed gardening and his passion was fishing, especially with his grandsons. He truly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Bertrand Vincent; one son, Keith Vincent; four grandchildren, Jennifer Campisi, Dominic Campisi, Brandon Vincent and Brittany Vincent; five great grandchildren, Lane Kasperski, Alexander LeBlanc, Hunter Pool-Campisi, Jacob Vincent and Lauren Vincent; and two sisters, Helen Meaux and Mary Bertrand.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Vincent Campisi; his parents, Angelas and Lucille Faulk Vincent; and one infant brother.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Campisi, Dominic Campisi, Lane Kasperski, Wes Bertrand, Brandon Vincent and Manuel Broussard.
