Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Anna Mae Lee Harless Craig, 84, who passed away on March 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Gary Funderburk, Pastor of East Bayou Baptist Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Ms. Craig, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Robert E Lee, Jr. of Opelousas, LA and the former Florence Laidlaw of Fenton, Louisiana. Anna married Denver Harless on Friday April 13, 1951 which began a tradition of celebrating all Friday the 13ths. They moved to Lafayette in 1960 where she was a homemaker until his death. She then worked at ULL (USL at that time) and retired in January 1993 as Supervisor of the telephone system and the Martin Hall Copy Center. During this time, she married John A. Craig in 1976. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Special thanks to Tootsie Talbot for the excellent care and friendship provided over the years. She is survived by her son, Denver Wade Harless and wife Shelly (Ortego) of Sour Lake, TX; one granddaughter, Erica Harless Richard and husband, Elton of Beaumont, TX; one grandson, Robert Denver Harless and wife Mamie (Sicard) of Baton Rouge, LA; three great grandsons, Garrett Richard of Beaumont, TX, Grant Harless of Baton Rouge, LA and Lucas Richard of Beaumont, TX; step-daughter Jean Craig Pugh and husband Chuck of Phoenix, AZ; three step-grandsons, Danny Pugh and wife Reverend Chon Pugh of Temple AZ, David Pugh of Colorado Springs, CO and Dale Pugh and wife Elena of Houston, TX; eight step-great grandchildren and nine step-great great grandchildren. Anna is also survived by her sister-in-law Ada (Lejeune) Lee of Jennings, LA and God son Steven Ross Lee of Clear Lake, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Denver Lee Harless (1970) and her second husband John A. Craig (1989); brother, Robert E. Lee III of Jennings, LA and nephew Ervin C. Lee of Jennings, LA. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am.
