Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for Barbara Ann Romero, 66, who passed away on March 7, 2013 at 8:05 am at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Brittany, Cassie and Madison. The readers for the Mass will be Heather Frederick and Mary Way. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Mrs. Barbara, a resident of Broussard, was the daughter of the late Theobald Guidry and the former Alice Courville Guidry. Mrs. Romero worked for Acadiana Bottling for five years and then went to work for Donald and Rebecca Landry as their housekeeper and Nannie for over thirty years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara was an organ donor and was able to give the gift of sight and she will be sadly missed. She is survived by her daughter; Denise Romero Kidder and her husband, Mitchell; her sons, Edward J. "Eddie" Romero, Dwayne J. Romero and his wife, Jan and Albert C. Romero ,Jr.; her grandchildren, Brock, Brook, Brittany, Bryce, Cassie, Drake, Teagan and Gavin Romero, Madison Kidder; her great grandchildren, Rylie and Kynsi Romero; her sisters, Marie G. Vallot and her husband; Russell, Diane Romero and her husband Fred. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles Romero Sr., her sisters; Agnes G. Drouet, Bunice G. Romero, and Bernice G. Dooley and her brother, Clarence Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home in Broussard, LA on Friday March 8, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday from 8:00 am until time of service. Pallbearers will be Brock, Brook, Drake and Bryce Romero, Mitchell Kidder and Kent Benoit. The family would like to especially thank Mary Way, Kent Benoit and the Doctors and Staff of Lafayette General Hospital.
