Elva Mae C. Hernandez

Elva Mae C. Hernandez, known as “T-Mae” to many, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2021, in her apartment at Camelot of Broussard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church to celebrate her life and allow her family and friends to mourn her passing. Fr. Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. The burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Monday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric and Justin Stroderd, Chris Landry; great-grandsons, Braden Doucet, Garret Russo, and Caden Cunningham. Elva Mae was the daughter of the late Frank Cormier and the former Selvina Trahan. She will be lovingly remembered as a kind and genuine woman who loved her family and a good bowl of coush coush. Her quiet smile and gentle presence made everyone feel comfortable around her. She was a selfless mother and grandmother who spent most of her life caring for those around her. Elva Mae liked watching the Houston Astros games, and playing the nickel slots at the casino, but what she most enjoyed was spending time visiting over coffee with her loved ones. She leaves behind her children, Glenn W. Landry and Tina Landry Stroderd (Paul); her siblings, Anne Cormier, Exie Cormier and Irene C. Decou; her grandchildren, Monica Landry, Danielle Landry, Shawn L. Russo (Mark), Chris Landry (Rachel), Shannon L. Richard (Shawn), Shelly Landry, Eric Stroderd (Hailey), Danica L. Gibson (Nickie), Lacie L. Dronet (Mitch), Justin Stroderd (Angel), Brandy S. Duhon (Mark), and Allison S. Babin (Jy); numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd P. Landry Sr.; second husband, Upton Hernandez; son, Lloyd P. Landry, Jr.; her parents, Frank A. and Selvia Trahan Cormier; and her siblings, Willie Cormier, Asa Cormier, Edmay Cormier, Jeanne C. Landry, Alex Cormier, Curley Cormier, Thomas Cormier, and Hortense C. St. Marie; grandson, Hunter Wayne Landry.
