Mackel "Mack" B. Miller

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mackel "Mack" Brent Miller, 74, who gained his angel wings on September 8, 2024 following a 4 year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Mack fought like a lion to win the battle, but in the end, God needed him more than we did. Fr. Steve Leblanc will conduct the funeral services. A private inurnment will take place in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Basile, LA, immediately following services. Mr. Miller, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Carmen Joseph Miller, Sr. and the former Mattie Jane Langley. Mack was a graduate of Basile High School and went on to Tulane University on a football scholarship. After 2 years, he transferred to McNeese State University in Lake Charles and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Mack held several jobs before going to work for Carboline Co. in 1975. It was here he met his wife, Brenda, and they worked together for 36 years, eventually retiring together in 2012. Mack loved travelling, fishing, hunting, campfires, and spending time with his family & friends. He had many fond sayings and quips that were so funny to others. Mack was a big-hearted, kind man with many talents, yet most of all he preferred to be respected rather than well-liked. He was firm in his beliefs and loved God with all of his being. Mack's legacy will be remembered through the lives of all he met and helped along the way. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Brenda Concienne Miller; children, Jason B. Miller (Christina) and Nicole Miller Arslanagic (Emir); step-daughter, Tammie Rogers; grandchildren, Aidan Miller, Ethan Miller, Safia Arslanagic, Whitney Rogers, and Dorian Rogers; brothers, Steve Miller (Joann), Willie Miller (Lainey), Mark Miller (Suzette), and Jeff Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Mattie Miller; and brother, Carmen J.
