Margaret Geraldine "Gerry" Mosley Moore

Margaret Geraldine “Gerry” Mosley Moore passed away at home surrounded by her family at 2:07AM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home- Bertrand from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 and continue on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 12:00PM until service time. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00PM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Interment will be at Lafayette Memorial Park. Margaret better known as Gerry was born and raised in Baldwin, Florida where she met, fell in love, and married, Charles Douglas Moore who was stationed at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL serving in the US Navy. Soon after they were relocated to Beeville, TX for their final tour of duty. After leaving the service they lived in Fort Worth, TX for a short time before moving to make a forever home in Lafayette, LA. While in Lafayette raising their family, she worked as a manager for a fabric store, bookkeeper, assistant manager and manager in several other positions prior to her retirement from Wayfarer Travels in 1998. Several years before retirement she and her husband bought their dream recreational camp in Montegut, LA, where they spent their summers and leisure times fishing, hunting, crabbing, boating and enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets with family and friends. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Charles Douglas Moore; and one beloved brother, Harold Robert Mosley; two daughters, Kendra Moore Baudoin and her husband Bennett of Cankton, Dana Moore Gautreaux and her husband Kevin of Lafayette; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Cummins Melanson and her husband Lucas of Carencro, Ashlyn Gautreaux of New Orleans, Kaelyn Gautreaux of Lafayette, Amber Baudoin Drewett and her husband Trey of Ruston, Logan Baudoin Stelly and her husband Matt of Jacksonville, NC.; 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden Michael Cummins, Riley Patrick Cummins, Gavin Charles Melanson, and Jathan Alexander Drewett; a nephew, Harold Robert Mosley II and his wife Amanda of Peyton, CO; a niece, Amber LeAnne Mosley of Sunset; sister-in-law, Gloria Frances Moore Otto of Satsuma, AL; brother-in-law, Gary Michael Moore and wife Sonia of Kenner, LA; and many other beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley J. and Ella Cinda Mosley; her oldest brother, Wesley J Mosley II; sister-in-law, Nancy Mae Simmons Mosley; her niece, Robin Amanda Mosley Jeffers; and her beloved son, Charles Douglas Moore Jr. Pallbearers will be Kevin Gautreaux, Bennett Baudoin, Lucas Melanson, Gary Moore, Philip Schott and Ivan Culver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Robert Mosley, Harold Robert Mosley II, Jack Christi, Carl Brown and Chuck Davis.
