Michael John Miller

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Spirit and Truth Church, 1128 W. Simcoe Street, Lafayette, for Michael J. Miller, 59, who passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Pastor Jake Benton of Spirit and Truth Church will officiate the funeral services. A gathering of prayer will be recited at 7:00 pm by Pastor Jake Benton in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Miller Cemetery in Eunice. Mike was wonderfully made by the perfect hands of Jesus Christ. He always made you laugh whether you liked it or not. He was a great man, with a big heart and he will be dearly missed by his five surviving children, John A.P. Miller and his wife, Chastity and their children, Kenneth W. Miller and his wife, Tobi and children, Chadwick J.A. Miller and his wife, Allison and son, Jena L. Miller and her fianc', Byron E. Stack and son, Jacob M. Miller and fianc', Laura Fahenstock. Mike really had four best friends that loved and cherished him deeply and are looking forward to seeing him again, they are Jennifer Tujague Fox, Stephen L. Fox, Hershey Miller, and Henry Miller. He had not one but two beautiful surviving sisters, Beverly and Cheryl who he loved and teased till the day he went to meet Our Lord. His big brother, Marcus has always been his heart and he always had to look up to him because he was so much taller. His mother, Mary Miller, he kept in constant contact with and visited as often as possible and loved her with all of his heart. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Chaumont Miller of Deville, La; his sister, Beverly Miller Tyler and her husband, Joe Tyler; his brother, Marcus J. Miller and his wife, Lauran from Carrollton, VA; his sister, Cheryl Miller Davis and her husband, Lovell (Gene) Davis from Pineville, LA. He has 7grandchildren, and 9 nieces and nephews. Michael was a dedicated truck driver for the last ten years and will be missed by his fellow co-workers. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernice J. Miller. Pallbearers will be Marcus J. Miller, Stephen L. Fox, John A.P. Miller, Kenneth W. Miller, Chadwick J.A. Miller, and Jacob Michael Miller. The family request visiting hours be observed on Saturday from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm and continue on Sunday from 8:00 am until the time of services.
