Adele Broussard Turner

Funeral services will be held AT 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers, in Lafayette for Adele Broussard Turner, 94, who passed away Monday, January 18, 2010. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on University Avenue. Reader will be Courtney Broussard and Gift Bearers will be Desiree Simon , Chelsey Prejean and Lauren Albarado. Mrs. Turner was a native of Maurice, LA and lived with her daughter Helen Simon, granddaughter Patricia Simon and great-granddaughter Chelsey Prejean for the past four years. She was a member of the Bonne Mort Society in Carencro, LA. Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Helen Turner Simon of Lafayette and Nolia and her husband Ray Venable of Cankton, LA; four sons, Dallas Turner and his wife Cindy Mouton, Lester and his wife Kim Gautreaux of Lafayette, LA, Melvin and his wife Sable Duhon of Maurice, LA, and Wesley and his wife Helen Vincent of Carencro, LA; one sister Lucy Broussard Loeve and husband Leonard of Orange, Texas; as well as twenty one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Camille Broussard and Agnes Thibodeaux Broussard; two brothers, Meus and Abey C. Broussard, Stephen Turner the father of her children, two sons Presley Turner , and an infant son, three grandchildren and a very special friend, Noah Theriot. Mrs. Turner passed away peacefully after visits with her loved ones and very special friends. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Dallas Turner, Rodney Simon, Richard Venable, Wayne Venable, Lester Turner and Nolan Theriot. Honorable pallbearers will be Lane Broussard, James Broussard, Ray Venable, Cory Albarado, Kyle Albarado and Rodney Simon Jr. The family would also like to extend a very special thanks to Heart of Hospice for their support during Adele's battle with cancer, especially her nurses Raquel McCorvey and Melody Coleman and aide Mary.
