Adies Marie Broussard

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Basil Catholic Church for Adies Marie Broussard, 93, who passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:50 pm at The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Reverend A. Rex Broussard, Jr., Pastor of St. Basil Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in St. Basil Cemetery. Mrs. Broussard, a resident of Duson, LA, was the daughter of the late Husville Adam Hulin, Sr. of St. Martinville, Louisiana and the former Octavie Menard of St. Martinville, Louisiana. She lived in Henderson, Lafayette, Lake Charles and the Judice community. She was affectionately call "Mom" not only by her children but by the majority of the people who came to know her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a devotion to the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. People often called upon her to pray for them. Although she considered herself blessed to have a loving family, it is her family who were truly blessed to have had her for 93 years. She was our mother and best friend, with such a good listening ear, who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Patin, Willia "Dean" Benoit and husband Paul, Henrietta Patin and husband Isaac, and Katherine Menard and husband Larry; two sons, John Lee Broussard and wife Marie, and Jeffery Steven Broussard and wife Dianna; "Adopted" Daughter Kathy Hernandez and husband Dale; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Telesphor Amy, Jr. and her second husband, Romain Broussard; three brothers, Morris Hulin, Husville Hulin, Jr., Lucien Hulin, Sr., six sisters, Armance Hulin Ortamond, Lilia Hulin Melancon, Lillian Hulin Duhon, Loda Hulin Lalande, Eunice Hulin Davis, Agnes Hulin Hernandez and a son-in-law, Elden "Pat" Patin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until service time. A Rosary will be recited by Glenn Faul on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Scott and Kevin Benoit, Darrin and Jonathan Patin, Brian, Dirk and Damon Menard, and Brandon Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be John and Jeffery Broussard, Paul Benoit, Isaac Patin, Jr. and Larry Menard. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Spiller and staff, especially Keisha, Regional Medical Center and Staff and her special friends, Mrs. Theriot, Mrs. Boutin and Mrs. Prejean.
