Agnes Gertrude Thibeaux

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette for Agnes H. Thibeaux, age 84, who passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Rev. Msgr. Richard von Phul Mouton, pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral services. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Mrs. Thibeaux, born on May 24, 1921 to Lucien Joseph Heier and the former Jennie Gilardoni, was a native of Arabi, LA where she was raised, educated, and employed by the Louisiana Draft Board. Upon her marriage to Herman in 1947, she resided in Lafayette where they raised their family. She worked alongside her husband at their family business, Lafayette Restaurant Supply. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Alter Society when the church parish was considered a mission of Our Lady of Fatima. Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family, working in her flower beds, and traveling with her husband. Survivors include two daughters, Ellen T. Hudson and husband, Lane, of Kenai, Alaska and Linda T. LaChaussee and husband, Merlyn, Jr., of Lafayette; one son, Herman Thibeaux, Jr. and wife, Debrah, of Broussard; six grandchildren, Poonie Thibeaux and wife, Ashley, Hunter Thibeaux and wife, Meri, Laura LaChaussee, and Andrew LaChaussee all of Lafayette, Christopher Hudson and wife, Kari, of Kenai, Alaska, and Jennie Hudson of Grand Junction, Colorado; and eight great grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Eli Thibeaux, Griffin, Cathrine Grace, and Ella Thibeaux, and Thomas and Rebekah Hudson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Thibeaux; one infant son, Lucien Thibeaux; one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hudson; and only sister, Josephine Dauterive. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home by Rev. Msgr. Richard von Phul Mouton. Pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Poonie Thibeaux, Christopher Hudson, Hunter Thibeaux, and Andrew LaChaussee, and Joby Herbert and Stephan LeBlanc.
