Alice Stutes

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Alice Judice Stutes, 95, who passed away on November 10, 2017 at Carpenter House, St. Joseph Hospice. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Gift Bearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lectors will be Aline Norwood and Sandra Moore. Eucharistic Ministers will be JoAnne George and Debbie Kremheller. Eulogy will be presented by Randy Foreman. Prayers of the faithful will be recited by Charlene P. Boudreaux. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Alice was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and a graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic School. She held a special place in her heart for children. Many will remember her from Landry's Young Fashions where she outfitted generations of Lafayette's youths for special occasions. ALL will remember "Alice from Abdalla's". Alice, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Pierre Alcee Judice, Sr. and the former Carmelite Doucet. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Glynn and Betty Stutes and Patrick and Virginia Stutes, all of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Monique Heinen, Lance Stutes, Patrick Stutes, II, Laura LeBlanc and Bethany Stutes; two step grandchildren, Shawn Guthrie and Abbie Aucoin; twenty great-grandchildren with two more on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vought Wilson Stutes; eight brothers Valsin, Elie, Pierre, Alcide, Marc, Claude, Alphe, and Ivy Judice; seven sisters, Edmae Doucet, Solita Judice, Cora Landry, Aline Judice, Marcelite DeRoussel, Lucille Comeaux, Cely Doucet and Tonsie Pike. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A Rosary will be recited by Marilyn Lewis at 6:00PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Glynn Stutes, Pat Stutes, Lance Stutes, Patrick Stutes, II, Ross Norwood and Hunter Boudreaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Heinen, Jason LeBlanc, Dale Boudreaux, Steve Judice, Reggie Judice and Josh Crook.
