Anna Lee Marks Hollier

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, in St. Jules Catholic Church for Anna Lee Marks Hollier, 88, who passed away on October 23, 2022 at Camelot of Broussard. Rev. Msgr. Richard Greene, retired priest of the Diocese of Lafayette, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Mrs. Hollier, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Theophile Marks and the former Maude Duquis. She was valedictorian at Leonville High and a graduate of SLI. She was inspired by her mother, who was a teacher. Her parents instilled in her a great Catholic faith, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her husband, John, was her rock and she missed him dearly. She often spoke of the first time he threw water on her at the school fountain. Years later, after having completed her education and as John returned from Korea, they met again. She remembered the moment so vividly, she could tell you what shirt he was wearing. Two months later they were married. They were absolutely devoted to each other and created a wonderful life together. She retired from USL. She considered many coworkers family and continued those friendships through her life. She enjoyed getting to know many international students and teachers often invited them to holiday celebrations. She enjoyed family life, traveling, daily crossword puzzles, and reading. She is survived by her daughters, Annette Hollier Guichard (Joel) and Maude Hollier Lightcap (Doug); sons, David Hollier (Jill), Jean Hollier, and James Hollier (Rebecca); son-in-law, David Crouch (Susie); 17 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John L. Hollier; daughter, Loretta Crouch; daughter-in-law, Brandi Hollier; parents, Theophile and Maude Marks; brothers, Robert and Simon Marks; and sister, Sophie Marks. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Casey Hollier, Chad Crouch, Brady Crouch, Adam Guichard, Nick Guichard and Stephen Lightcap.
