Anne Breaux

Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for Anne Broussard Breaux, 90, who passed away peacefully at her home in Lafayette on October 10, 2013 at 8:00 am. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Mrs. Breaux, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Elie Broussard and the former Jeanne Ledet. She lived her life guided by her strong faith. She loved her family and friends and was oftentimes the host of get togethers that centered around her wonderful cooking. She took great pride in her yard and loved working in it. She truly enjoyed playing card games whether it was Boureé, Bridge, Cadillac or Battle. She was loved by all who were fortunate to meet her. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn B. Jourdan and husband Deacon George B. Jourdan of Lafayette, LA and Claire B. Billeaud and husband Robert E. "Buddy" Billeaud, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; two sons, Jean C. Breaux, Jr. and wife N. W. "Sissy" Warner Breaux of Lafayette, LA and Carl J. Breaux and wife Monica Purpera Breaux of Lafayette, LA; seven grandchildren, Dianne Hebert, Stephen P. Breaux, John B. Darbonne, David J. Breaux, Anne-Marie B. Mouton, Mary Margaret Billeaud and Robert E. Billeaud, III; seven great grandchildren, William F. Hebert, Andrew J. Hebert, Jeanne Catherine Hebert, Dawson R. Darbonne, Aedan R. Darbonne, Isabel J. Simon and and Isaac A. Mouton; three sisters, Therese Higginbotham, Irene Mouton and Lucille Venable; one brother, George Broussard and his wife Lavada Broussard of Warner Robins, GA; and one sister-in-law, Helen Broussard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband J. Chester Breaux; one grandson, Brian Francis "B.J." Jourdan; and five brothers, Jules Broussard, Otis Broussard, Isaac Broussard, Leonard Broussard and Paul Broussard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Stephen P. Breaux, John B. Darbonne, David J. Breaux, Robert E. Billeaud, III, Kevin C. Hebert, Dennis Mouton, Jules Broussard, Charles Langlinais, Kenneth J. Higginbotham and Tony L. Venable. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mrs. Breaux's beloved nieces and nephews of the Broussard, Breaux, Higginbotham, Langlinais and Venable families.
