Arthur Ray Yandle

Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at St. Edmond Catholic Church for Arthur Ray Yandle, Jr., 76, who passed away on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Timothy Richard, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Con-Celebrant will be Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Giftbearers will be Zachary Comeaux and Brittney Comeaux. Readers will be Holli Yandle and Claudette Holloway. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum. Arthur 'Ray' Yandle, Jr., a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Arthur Ray Yandle, Sr. of Lafayette and the former Marie Delhomme of Carencro. Arthur was retired from Aquatica formerly known as American Oilfield Divers. He was a board member emeritus of the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and also a First Degree member of the St. Edmond Knights of Columbus Council No. 10293. He is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Marilyn M. Yandle of Lafayette; four sons, Arthur "Sonny" Yandle and his wife, Yvette of Swannee,Georgia, Matson "Mat" Yandle and his wife, Maxine of Lafayette, Richard "Rich" Yandle and his wife, Paulette of Lafayette and Oliver P. "Opy" Yandle and his partner, Scott of Chicago, Illinois; one daughter, Marilyn "Angel" Yandle Comeaux and her husband, Barry of Carencro; one brother, S. Elwood "Woody" Yandle; one sister, Gloria "Betty" Yandle; five grandchildren, Holli Kathleen Yandle, Christopher Harris Yandle and his wife, Ashleigh, Aimee Michelle Yandle, Nicholas Scott Yandle, Zachary Charles Comeaux, Brittney Nicole Comeaux; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Elizabeth Yandle. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Arthur "Sonny" Yandle, Matson "Mat" Yandle, Richard "Rich" Yandle Oliver "Opy" Yandle, Christopher Yandle, Nicholas Yandle and Barry Comeaux. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 3717 Government Street, Suite 7, Alexandria, Louisiana 71302.
