Ashton Elijah Money

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Ashton Elijah Money, 19, resident of Broussard, Louisiana, hailed from the deep South in Morgan City, who passed away on February 19, 2023. Visitation will begin at Noon. Pastor Blake Cotter of Our Savior’s Church will conduct the funeral services. Ashton Money was a rare breed—the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone. From the moment he entered the world, Ashton made everyone around him laugh and smile. His laugh was infectious; it demanded the attention of everyone in the room. Ashton made the world better, one big, infectious laugh at a time and he did all of this in just 19 short years. Ashton was a giant-sized personality (height included) who loved big and hard. He loved his family and friends, gaming, working out, and cars (very loud and fast cars). He especially loved his baby, that infamous white Mustang you could hear a mile (or two) away. Let's not forget the food. That boy sure loved to eat. You see, Ashton wasn't just memorable because of his towering stature, his pride-and-joy (a very loud white Mustang), or his uncanny ability to be the loudest person in the room. No, Ashton was unforgettable because he had an amazing work ethic and bigger-than-life dreams. And those dreams were full of laughter and light—just like Ashton himself! Ashton was a force for good. Some things we knew for sure: Ashton loved the Lord, laughing, music, (singing and dancing included), his family and friends, gaming, fast cars, and being right. Boy, was he stubborn...and blunt. Honesty was important to him. He wasn't perfect, but he tried his best to live out his faith in Christ by loving others well. It was one of the things we loved most about him - his willingness to go out of his way to show kindness to those who needed it most. Ashton was loyal and gave his heart away freely. He held doors for strangers, carried bags for the elderly, and emptied his wallet for the homeless or anyone in need. If you ever had the opportunity to meet Ashton or be around him, chances are good that he made an impression on you. Ashton is, and will always be, deeply missed by his family, friends, and anyone else lucky enough to have crossed paths with him during his short life on this side of Heaven. The world is a less-than-perfect place without Ashton in it. He is survived by his parents, Jason and Brandi Money; sister, Brooklyn Money; brother-from-another-mother, Jasper Mayon; maternal grandparents, Patricia and Steve Aucoin; paternal grandparents, Donald Money and step-grandmother, Elaine Laughter Money; paternal great-grandmother, Anita Alexander, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His grandmother, Donna Alexander Money, cousin Caelyn Raine Olds, and his "Mamie," Amy Lowery, preceded him in death. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
