A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Babette Marie Guidry, 58, who passed away on September 23, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Aaron Melancon will con-celebrate. Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus cemetery. Babette, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Albert M. LeBlanc and the former Jeannette Simon. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Guidry; two sons, Jared Guidry and his wife, Natalie, and Jake Guidry; grandchildren, Riley, Easton, and Taylor Guidry; mother, Jeanette Simon LeBlanc; four brothers, Keith LeBlanc and wife, Debbie, Tony LeBlanc and wife, Jackie, John Leblanc and wife, Melanie, and Wayne Leblanc and wife, Rachael, and three God Children, Jamie Labbe, Terrin Guilbeau, and Zack LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert M. LeBlanc, and brother, David LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Jake Guidry, Jared Guidry, Keith LeBlanc, Tony LeBlanc, John Leblanc, Wayne LeBlanc, and Zack LeBlanc. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Simon, Harry Simon, and Dave George. Babette wrote down a few things she wanted to share with others. She was married for 39 years to the most supportive husband, Bob. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with and spoiling them. Babette had a passion for fitness. It was her self-mental therapy. Bob always said, I was like a sunflower, bright and perky for the love of sunshine. Babette wanted to thank her family for everything and anything that they have done for her in her time of need. Their love is never ending. The family would like to thank Palative care and Hospice of Acadiana (Candice Pommier), Doctors Eric Trawick and Jeffery Brown for their compassionate care. Babette worked for 36 years at Cochran Scales until her illness. She truly loved her job that gave her another family with Dave and JoAnne George.
