Benny Hamilton

Benjamin "Benny" Hamilton unexpectedly passed away on the evening of Friday, January 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. His passing has created a void in his family’s hearts that will never be filled. Benjamin Norris “Benny” Hamilton was born in Lafayette, LA, on October 1, 2018. At the time of his death, he was a kindergarten student at Woodvale Elementary. He loved his friends and adored his teacher, Mrs. Beth Bolinger. With an infectious smile, an impish grin, and an inexhaustible supply of hugs, Benny instantly captivated every heart he touched. He filled every room he entered with his joy, wonder, and boundless curiosity. In a word, Benny embodied the textbook definition of canaille. Benny cherished his time spent with his family, with his books, and with his toys, particularly his hot wheels, innumerable building kits, and his beloved dinosaurs. Forever building roads, high-rise structures, and stout defenses against his numerous massive Godzilla toys, Benny exhibited remarkable analytical, problem-solving and structural-design abilities. He would undoubtedly have made a gifted engineer. Benny is survived by his loving parents, Jacob P. Hamilton and Aimee Brasseaux Hamilton, his sister Cecilia “CeCe” Hamilton, his grandparents John Hamilton, Belva Breaux Hamilton, Carl Brasseaux, and Glenda Melancon Brasseaux, his aunts and uncles, Sarah Berthelot (Jon), Sabrina Hamilton (George), Sonya Hamilton, Ryan Brasseaux (Jessika), David Brasseaux (Christine), and many cousins. The visitation will be held at Delhomme’s Funeral Home - Bertrand on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, celebrating his short but beautiful life, will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church. A private interment will be held immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests small stuffed animals and children’s books that the family will donate to RescYou Group (337-534-4446). Monetary donations can be made to RescYou Group or Healing House.
