Bertha Louise Reed Quebodeaux

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Bertha Louise Reed Quebodeaux, 82, who passed away on October 7, 2024. Father Steve LeBlanc will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Quebodeaux, a resident of Hayes, was the daughter of the late Herdie M. Reed Sr. and the former Mary Lottie Miller. Bertha Louise Quebodeaux was married to the late Wilfred Quebodeaux for 50 blessed years. They resided in Sulphur, Louisiana with their 3 beloved children for 35 years. Bertha was a loyal employee of Walmart for 17 years. She worked as a warehouse and claims manager and was one of the original staff members who opened and established the Sulphur Walmart store in 1981. Bertha loved to dance to Cajun and Swamp Pop music with Wilfred. And together they were avid LSU Tiger fans and enjoyed tailgating and going to games! Bertha also enjoyed camping, traveling to see family, shopping with her girls, and doing word finds. In addition, she loved to make beautiful crochet blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren! Bertha was also a member of the Krewe de Bon Temps Amis Mardi Gras Krewe. In 2015, Bertha and her friend Lee Bellard served as “Lady” and “Lord”. The couple danced to one of their favorite songs. Most of all, Bertha loved spending time with her children, 10 grandchildren, and her 19 great grandchildren. Bertha was a loving Wife, Mother, MawMaw, and Grammie. She will truly be missed by all! She is survived by her children, Christina F. Hayes (Neil), Keith M. Quebodeaux (Freida), and Mona L. Dodge; grandchildren, Jason Hayes, Jerad Hayes (Melissa), Cortney Dawson (Joe), Heather Quebodeaux (Amanda Taylor), Lauren Quebodeaux, Lindsey Miller (Chad), Tiffani Ouradnik (Jeff), Brittany Rome (Luke), and Melissa Dodge-Christensen (Kameron); great-grandchildren, Barrett, Jacob, Hallie, Payton, Sydney, Brycen, Mallory, Lance, Emma, Fraya, Ben, Ellie, Kate, Nelson, Charlotte, Noah, Bentley, and two on-the-way. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wilfred Quebodeaux; granddaughter, Jennifer Elise Hayes; parents, Herdie and Mary Reed; and brother, Herdie M. Reed, Jr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Jared, Jason, Jacob, Lance, Kameron, and Heather. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provided by Vermilion at Eastridge Assisted Living in Abbeville and Audubon Hospice in Lafayette.
