Beverly Anne Barre

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 28th, 2025 in St. Pius X Church, no visitation, a reception will follow after the mass for Beverly Anne Barre, 73, who passed away on February 6, 2025. Beverly, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Paul Barre and the former Jeanne Richaud. Affectionately known as Bev to her family and friends. She was a proud alum of the University of New Orleans and Loyola University-New Orleans and retired educator at Ursuline Academy- New Orleans. Bev’s life was defined by her unwavering love for family and friends, her deep faith, and her commitment to bring her friends closer to God. Bev found great peace and comfort in her faith, and she loved to pray the rosary and attend mass daily. She was involved as a core member and participant in a multitude of ministries within her church parish: Regium Christi Lafayette Women’s chapter, Friends in Faith Theresian, Magnify Women’s Core team and Bible Study leader, ACTS retreat team, Come Lord Jesus, Women’s guild, Eucharistic Revival, and the Food Pantry. She also serviced her church as Lector, Extraordinary minister of holy communion, and Sacristan. She displayed fierce love of the Lord, Authenticity, Blind Obedience to God, and Christ-Centered friendship to all she encountered within our ministries and church parish! She boldly let her light shine leading to Jesus in all conversations, and prayed for all that crossed paths with daily. Bev’s legacy is one of love, faith, and prayer. Her impact on the lives of those she has met will continue to be felt for generations to come. Her husband and family find comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever live on in their hearts and in the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Paul Galantowicz; son, Chris McCrory; grandchildren, Molly, Lilly, and Dagny McCrory; sister, Anna Alpha and brother, Jimmy Barre. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Barre. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The DesOrmeaux Foundation.
