Bonnie Gayle Rush

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers for Bonnie Gayle Rush, 83, who passed away on June 20, 2024. Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in the Lafayette Protestant Cemetery. Mrs. Rush, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Paul Perkins and the former Lilia Gayle. Bonnie was married to Earl Rush for 29 years before his death in October 1988. They traveled to Japan with the Air Force where their first child was born. After leaving Japan they returned to the United States where their next three children were born. They traveled to England where they lived for 8 years, and their last child was born. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, visiting numerous historical sites including every castle in the United Kingdom. She enjoyed family gatherings, cake decorating and love for her grandchildren and spending time with and caring for her mother who she deeply loved. She will be missed dearly by everyone including her two dogs, Fergie and Susie. She is survived by her children, Donna Mayeux and husband, Rob, Rebecca "Lynn" Elston and husband, David, David Rush and wife, Renee, Brian Rush and Jennifer LeBlanc, and Timothy Rush and wife, Roxie; grandchildren, Jennifer Young, Hilary Young, Hailey Havard, Crystal Elston, Kelly Elston, Kevin Elston, Michelle Rush St. Pierre, Christopher Rush, Megan Rush, and Abigail Picard; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Paul Douglas Perkins, Jr. and wife, Gina, and two canine companions, Fergie and Susie. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Earl Sinclair Rush. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 8:30 AM until the time of service.
