Bradley James Short

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church - Broussard for Bradley James Short, 64, who passed away on August 13, 2021. Reverend Michael Delcambre, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Bradley, born and raised in Broussard, Louisiana, was the son of the late Louis Saul Short, Sr. and the former Therese Touchet. Bradley was a mechanic at B.F. Trappey's for many years and enjoyed being able to work with his father during this time. Bradley was a very loving and caring man. He was always there for anyone in need. He loved spending time at Rick's Towing and with his family, wife, and his fur baby girl, Dollie. Bradley loved hosting holidays at his home with his family. He was the Master of his grill. Bradley was also known for his Harbor Freight tool shop which was also home to his beloved zero turn lawn mower. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lona Short of Broussard; children, Donald Romero and wife, Sonya of Duson, Corey Romero and wife, Michelle of Broussard, and Brian Short of Carencro.; sister, Betty Robicheaux and husband, Ronald of Lafayette; brothers, Louis "Butch" Short, Jr. and wife, Maxine, and Ricky Short and wife, Gay, all of Broussard; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his beloved fur baby girl, Dollie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harris and Gerald Short, and sister, Vicky Short. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Broussard on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM to Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening in the funeral home by Voorhies Short. Pallbearers will be Ricky Short, Butch Short, Jessie Blanchard, Donald Romero, Brian Short, and Corey Romero. Honorary Pallbearer's will be Joshua Romero, Caylin Romero, Peyton Romero, Bruce Branscum, Cecil Theaux, and Jimmy Blanchard.
