Bruno Paul Hebert

Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 24, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Bruno P. Hebert, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Reverend John Deleeuw, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist will perform for the services, Amazing Grace, Wind Beneath My Wings, Take My Hand Precious Lord, I Lift Up My Soul, and On Eagles Wings. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Brenham; three grandchildren, Shelly Lasalle, Christy McCally, Joey Brenham; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Whitney (Camille) Guidry, Mrs. Raymond (Rebecca) Prejean, Mrs. Buddy (Rose) Marsiglia and a host of nieces and nephews who cared for him deeply. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Lilly Doris Mouton Hebert, his son, Lee Allen Hebert, his parents, Martin and Martha Hebert; five brothers, Benjamin, Noah Mildrew, Gilbert, Murphy, and George Hebert and two sisters Mildred Domingue and Algeria Broussard. A native of Cecilia and a resident of Lafayette for 69 years, Mr. Bruno was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Bruno was the son of the late Martin A. Hebert and Martha Hebert, both natives of Cecilia. Mr. Bruno enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1947. He served during the Korean War for two tours and served in the Vietnam War for two tours seeing combat in the Pacific Theater of Japan and the Phillipines. After serving his country with pride and retiring from the U.S. Army in 1974, he returned home and began another career as a security guard until full retirement in 1984. He will be dearly missed not only by family and friends but by all of those whose lives he has touched throughout the years. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Nathan Landry, Dr. Billy Joe Rossen, Jr., Dr. Michael J. Duval, Hospice of Acadiana and the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes for their kindness and care during Mr. Bruno's time of need. Special thanks to Courtyard Retirement Home as well as his care givers (nieces), Priscilla Begnaud, Jackie Boustany, Veronica Guidry and Robin Sonnier. The family request that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and will resume on Thursday at 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of all Funeral Arrangements.
