Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church for Carl Joseph Richard, 48, who passed away on November 19, 2009 at 9:25 PM at his residence. Reverend Tom Voohries, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Richard, a resident of Scott, Louisiana, was the son of the late Andrew Richard and the former Joyce Lavergne. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed camping, vacationing with his family and fishing trips with his friends and especially spending time with his grandchildren at school functions. Carl was employed with Vector Electric at the time of his illness. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Latiolais Richard of Scott; his daughters, Kayla Richard of Scott, Kim Melancon of Mire and Rachel Melancon Trahan and her husband Blaine of Mire; three grandchildren, Tyler Trahan, Bailey Melancon and Collin Trahan all of Mire; his mother, Joyce Richard of Lake Charles; his brothers, Andrew Richard, Jr., Larry Richard and his wife Gina and Gary Richard all of Lake Charles; two nephews, Bobby Richard and Daniel Richard and one niece, Jennifer Richard all of Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Richard, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm; Sunday, 9:00 am until 10:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm, and Monday, from 8:00 am until time of services at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Pallbearers will be Blaine Trahan, Tyler Trahan, Andrew Richard, Jr., Larry Richard, Bobby Richard, Kevin LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Richard and Tony Lavergne.
