Lafayette ' Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church Catholic Church for Carroll 'Glenn' Norwood, 55, who died on Sunday. May 27, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Reverend Jody Simoneaux, pastor of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church will conduct the funeral mass. Internment will follow at Holy Mary, Mother of God cemetery on Johnston Street across from Judice Inn. The family requests that visitation be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services. A rosary, led by Marilyn Judice Lewis, will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. A French rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday by Teurlings Catholic School seniors, David Rozas and Allen Latour. Mr. Norwood, son of Troy Carrington Norwood and the former Eddie Lavera Cornes, was born in Liberty, Texas and had been a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for the past 35 years. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended the University of Texas. He received his degree from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and worked, until the time of his death, as an application specialist for Devon Energy in Houston, Texas. Glenn is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, the former Aline Theresa Pike, a son, Ross Austin Norwood and his wife Jessica, three brothers, Edgar and his wife Patti, Ronny and his wife Barbara, and Larry and his wife Cynthia, one Godchild, Kasey Boudreaux McCullough, his mother-in-law, Tonsie J. Pike. His nieces and nephews Tanya, Sarah, E. Ross, Jason, Katherine, Matthew, Jason P., Wendy, Jesse, Kasey, Jade, and Hunter, along with 15 great nieces and nephews also survive him. His parents, Troy and Eddie Norwood, preceded him in death. Gift Bearers will be nieces and nephews of Mr. Norwood. Rendell James will provide musical selections for the services which will include Hear, Oh Lord, In Paradisum, and Psalm 23. Scriptures will be read by Sandra Judice Moore and Michael H. Boyer, Principal of Teurlings Catholic High School Pallbearers will be Ross Norwood, Edgar Norwood, Ronny Norwood, Larry Norwood, Dana Pike and Dale Boudreaux. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center as well as to Tonsie, Anthony, J'Mette, Dana, Judy, Charlene, Dale, Beverly, Tawana, Shirley, Phyllis and the staff of Alternative Health Care for the love and compassion they showed in caring for Glenn.
