Cebia Marie Patin

Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Cebia Marie Patin, 81, who passed away on January 24, 2011 at 6:25 am at her residence. Reverend Kenneth Domingue, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Church in Leonville, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Patin was the daughter of the late Reme Lormand of Cecilia, Louisiana and the former Leontine Landry of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Due to the death of her mother at her birth, her sister and brother-in-law Ladonia and Ovide Thibodeaux took her into their home and family where she grew up with her nieces Verna Leger and Margaret Patin and her nephew Sidney Thibodeaux. She was a resident of Breaux Bridge for the last 37 years. Prior to that she lived in Baker and Opelousas. In the early years of their marriage her and her husband resided in Houston where they raised their children. She enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She played a significant part in the raising of her great grandchildren Britney, Jasmine, and Dakota. She is survived by one son, Melvin "Pye" Patin and his wife, Faye; one daughter, Patricia "Pat" Pourciau; grandsons, MSGT (USAF) Duane Patin and his wife, Dawn, Travis Patin and his wife, Nicole, Christopher Pourciau, Davis "Bubba" Pourciau, and John Pourciau; great grandchildren, Britney Pourciau, Jasmine Pourciau, Dakota Pourciau, Ayden Pourciau, Sydney Pourciau, Hayley Pourciau, Seth Patin, Savannah Patin, Lane Patin, and Emma Patin; one sister, Emily Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Davis Patin; sisters, Ladonia Thibodeaux, Ozelia Guidry, May Ella Rogers, Anna Mae Dugas, and Anna Belle Hardy; brothers, Dudley Lormand, Noah Lormand, Maience Lormand, Lionel Lormand and Allen Lormand. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Travis Patin, Christopher Pourciau, Davis Pourciau, John Pourciau, Sidney Thibodeaux, and Seth Patin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lane Patin, and Dakota Pourciau. As she will be sadly missed by her family and friends, they can find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband. To all who knew them both it would be easy to imagine Davis saying to her "Well, Momma it's about time" as they embrace their sunset journey.
