Charles Heinbach

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Charles Heinbach, 83, who passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 8:22 pm at Garden View Assisted Living Home. Burial will take place in Dutch Cove Cemetery in Carlyss, LA on Wednesday, September 17, 2104 at 11:00 am. Charles, a resident of Sulphur, La was the son of the late Dorsey Heinbach and the former Audrey Lyons. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. After his service to his country he started his career in the oilfield by working for Pure Oil Co. then for Union Oil Co of California for over thirty years. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed collecting model trains, clocks, and reading history. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Wray Heinbach; his children, Gail Savoie and husband Dr. Joseph Savoie, Clay Heinbach and wife Paula; his grandchildren, Blaire Savoie Saulnier, Adam Savoie, Josh Heinbach; his great grandchildren, Alyssa Heinbach, Isaiah Heinbach, Addison Saulnier; two brothers, Jack Heinbach and wife Dot, and Dick Heinbach. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Charlie Heinbach. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 4:00 pm until time of service. Pallbearers will be Conrad Pearson, James Pearson, Marty Miller, Gus Cormier, Adam Savoie, Clay Heinbach, and Rick Farmer. The family would like to thank the staff of Garden View Assisted Living, Heart of Hospice and his caregivers Elmo Breaux, Miss Glenda and M.D. Anderson Medical Center for helping Charlie in his thirty year battle with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Kelly Cahill, Jr., Dr. Jeremy Speeg, and Dr. Jason Shumadine for his care in Lafayette, LA. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Charles Heinbach's memory to the Cancer Center of Acadiana 1604 W. Pinhook Road Suite 203 Lafayette, LA 70508.
