Chester "Ches" J Albarado

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 2:00 PM on October 25, 2023 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott for Chester Joseph Albarado, 83, who passed away on October 21, 2023. Fr. Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Theresa and St. Benedict Catholic Churches, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott, LA. Mr. Albarado, a resident of Duson, was the son of the late Clifton Albarado and the former Cecile Leger. Ches loved his Cajun heritage, playing accordion at a very young age. He loved playing music at any chance, from nursing homes to jam sessions with friends, he played them all. Even now, Ches is playing accordion with his beloved Gloria, playing on her "tit fer". In 2017, he retired from truck-driving for Derouen Heavy Equipment to care for Gloria, which he faithfully did until her passing. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, his beloved cats, watching his nephew Justin playing baseball, and cheering with his granddaughter at the Rayne High football games... "Go Wolf!" He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Rene Bourque Thibodeaux of Mire, LA; step-daughter, Tammy Bourque Daigle (Tommy); step-son, Leonard "James" Bourque, Sr.; granddaughter, Emma Thibodeaux; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandra Bourque; and brothers-in-law, Allen Bourque (Carolyn), Larry Bourque, Sidney Bourque Jr., and Randy Bourque. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Gloria Ann Bourque; son-in-law, Brent Thibodeaux; brother, Larry Albarado (Genevieve "Genny"); parents, Clifton and Cecile Albarado; brother-in-law, Ronnie Desormeaux; and nephew, Ryan Desormeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue, following the Rosary, until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Tommy Daigle, Shane Desormeaux, Kenny Sonnier, Donald Daigle, Pierre Albarado, and Tommy Stelly.
