Christopher Robinson Emling

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Christopher Robinson Emling, 27, lost his battle with the demons of addiction. He struggled for many long years in an attempt to escape the powerful pull of this disease, but sadly could not win the fight. Christopher was born on February 14, 1995 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He attended Cathedral Carmel School and then graduated from St. Thomas More High School. He has held various jobs with a hard-working attitude and most recently had started a career in the solar panel industry, with so much promise. Christopher is survived by his wife, Naomi Hebert Emling and their two babies, Evelyn Rose and Isabella Anne, his son, Leo Christopher Emling and Leo’s mother Madeline Spallino, his father, John W. “Jack” Emling and his wife, Suzette, his mother, Mary Robinson Emling-Young and her husband, Gerald M. “Jerry” Young, his siblings, John Alexis Emling and his wife, Samantha, who is expecting their first child, William Francis Emling, Charles David Emling, Lindsay Sanders and her fiancé, Bailey Kidd, nephew, Kemper Thomas Emling, and his former stepmother, Christina Landry Emling. He also has a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom he shared many family gatherings and life events. Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Emling, Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mr. and Mrs. John C. Robinson, Sr. of Huntsville, Alabama. Family and friends will remember Chris as the precious child that he was and the young man who showed so much promise and effort to recover. He was a sweet, kind, caring, and loving person who had become a very doting father and husband. His love and compassion for animals was evident to all. Christopher will be so very missed by all who knew him. Services for Chris will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM, when funeral services will be conducted by Father Michael Richard. Honored to serve as pallbearers are John Alexis Emling, William Francis Emling, Charles David Emling, Charles Alexis Emling, III, Stephen Begnaud Emling and William Kieffer Emling. Christopher now lives on in the lives of 5 people who have received the gift of organ donation. The family is comforted and takes great pride in this generous act. The LOPA organization honored him with a flag raising ceremony and an honor walk to signify the courage it took for him and his family to make this decision. The family would like to acknowledge the ICU staff of Ochsner Lafayette General and the LOPA Organization for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christopher’s memory can be made to Day One Foundation/Doc initiative. So many people have asked how they can help or what they can do, and besides your prayers, the only thing we know that Chris would want is for his family to be taken care of the way he always worked so hard to do. Any gift received will be done so with much gratitude and humility and used responsibly for the children’s medical and educational expenses and all of the other expenses that will come raising these children with all of the love his family can give to try and fill those voids.
