Cleophile Babineaux

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 12, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Cleophile "Bob" Babineaux, Jr., 77, who passed away on January 8, 2009 at 7:40 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Musical selections will be provided by Jodi Bollich. Lector will be Shirley Babineaux. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Babineaux, a resident of Breaux Bridge, was the son of the late Cleophile Joseph Babineaux, Sr. of Vatican, Louisiana and the former Adele Marie Laneau of Grand Coteau, Louisiana. He served in the Louisiana National Guard. An avid fisherman and hunter Bob was a member of the Big Beach Hunting Club of Mississippi. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for over 45 years and served as business manager for 12 of those years. Bob was a member of the Rachet CB Club where his handle was "Good Time Charlie". He is survived by his companion, Shirley Hollier of Lafayette; one daughter, Hope Orthman and her husband, Tom of Mesquite, Texas; two sons, Scott Babineaux and his wife, Kristin of College Station, Texas and Keith Babineaux and his wife, Tisha of Weatherford, Texas; two step-children, Bernadine Barringer of Bell, Texas and Charles Trahan and his wife, Paula of Tucson, Arizona; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one sister, Ethel B. Burge and her husband, Richard of Lafayette; one brother, Roy E. "Red" Babineaux and his wife, Shirley of Lafayette; and his beloved dog, "Dude". He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lula May "Babs" Francisco and Lucille B. Taber. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hollier, Justin Hollier, Joshua Hollier, Austin Orthman, Greg Hulin and Bart Broussard. Personal condolences may be sent to family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com.
