Clydia "Sis" H. Rhoads

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. Clydia "Sis" H. Rhoads, 76, who passed away on August 21, 2017. Reverend Larry Baldridge will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Clydia Rhea Hull Rhoads was born September 13th 1940 in Galena Park, Texas to Clyde C. Hull and Effie Rhea Whitsitt Hull. She was married to her lifelong sweetheart Lonnie Rhoads Jr. for 50 years. Together they had three children Dusty, Robin, & Richard. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Sis during her 76 years, among them: the secret recipes we will treasure forever, the healing powers of a Memaw's kitchen table, and the amazing strength held on the shoulders of a 5ft 3in frame. The beauty of planting something and the joys it brings as it grows. The love of having pets. Cats, dogs, birds, you name it, she had it. The most prized of which was her Pomeranian Fred. Survivors include her children, one daughter Robin Bourque and partner Frank Cornay of Youngsville; two sons, Lonnie 'Dusty' Rhoads, III and wife, Jackie of Broussard, and Richard Wayne Rhoads and wife, Priscilla of Erath; two brothers, Donald Hull of Texas, Billy Jack Hull of Texas, nine grandchildren, SGT Brennen "Bubba" Bourque, Rebecca Trahan and husband, Josh, Dustin Rhoads, Rachel Wiggins and husband, Tim, Kyle Mhire and wife, Lindsey, Kory Mhire and wife, Christine, Zachary Rhoads and wife, Tiffany, Mason Rhoads, and Mia Rhoads, and ten great grandchildren, JJ, Garrett, Tanner, Seth, Kat, Wyatt, Ellie, Riley, Allie, and Jackson. All of which will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Rhoads Jr., her parents; her grandparents, William and Della Hull and Arthur and Willie Whitsitt; and numerous aunts and uncles that helped raise her and her brother. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 2:00PM to 8:00PM. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons Brennen, Zachary, Dustin, JJ, Garrett and Mason. Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth, Tanner, Donald, Jeff Lane, Billy Jack, Frank, Kyle, Kory, Josh and Tim.
