Constant Vincent Lahaye

Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Constant Vincent LaHaye, Jr., 82, who passed away on December 21, 2010 at 4:50 am at his residence. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Mr. LaHaye, Jr., a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Constant Vincent LaHaye, Sr. and the former Elda Carriere both of St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He was retired from ARCO as a Materials Procurement Supervisor after 40 years of service with them. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a life member of the NRA and an accomplished knife maker. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved cooking for family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey R. LaHaye of Lafayette; two daughters, Rachel L. Pool and husband Bill of Lafayette, and Harriet L. Hebert of Lafayette; two sons, Vincent Richard LaHaye and wife Kathryn of Roswell, NM, and Michael Gary LaHaye and wife Betty of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Karyl Joseph Hebert; one great grandchild, Jessie Denais and two sisters, Verna Dossmann, and Georgia Oge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joe Denais, Jason Denais, Christopher LaHaye, Jean Paul LaHaye, Michael LaHaye, Jr., Darrell Pool, and David Hebert. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mr. LaHaye to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501.
