Cynthia Ann Deshotels Moore

Funeral Services will be held at a 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Cynthia Moore, 81, who passed away on December 12, 2010 at 12:16 am at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by her family. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Tori Danielle Young and Essie Deshotels. Eucharistic Minister will be Essie Deshotels. Eulogist will be Sister Laura Melancon. Musical selections will be provided by Karen Broussard including Ava Maria, Wind Beneath My Wings, Amazing Grace and In The Garden. Mrs. Moore, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Armand Clyston Deshotels of Scott, Louisiana and the former Bernadette Connolly of Carencro, Louisiana. She was born on August 29, 1929 in Scott, Louisiana. She graduated from Mount Carmel in Lafayette in 1947. She married her husband of 58 years, Fred Stanley Moore on August 17, 1952 in Lafayette at Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a stay at home mom who raised her 5 children. Her hobbies included cooking, painting, sewing, dancing and traveling with the Louisiana Acadiana Airstream Club. She had a zest for life, loved to dance and visit with friends and family. She was the life of the party and was always caring for others. She cared for all of her brothers and sisters who passed away before her during their time of illness by cooking and visiting with them regularly. During the last years of her life, because of the care of her family, she was able to live with peace and dignity next to her loving husband of 58 years in their home. Mr. Moore was a loving husband who supported her in everything she did. She is survived by her children, Brenda Claire Moore of Lafayette(her children: Lance Francois of Lafayette and Aaron Francois married to Sarah Bowie Francois of Virginia), Stan Martin Moore married to Sharon Peavey Moore of Lafayette, Charlotte Moore Cornay (her child, Jennifer Claire) both of Lafayette, Clark Clement Moore of Lafayette and Charlie James Moore married to Therese Young Moore (children, Tori Danielle Young and Victoria Richard) of Crowley as well as her brother, Donald Deshotels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Infant Son ' Joseph Moore (still born), her sisters, ' Della Connolly, Gloria Hensgens, Marleen Woody, and Cecile Arceneaux and her brothers, John Allen Deshotels, Roderick Deshotels, A. C. Deshotels, and Russell Deshotels. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home by Sister Laura Melancon, Order of the Carmelite. Pallbearers will be Stan Moore, Clark Moore, Charlie Moore, Lance Francois, Aaron Francois & Martin Francois. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mrs. Moore to the Hospice Compassus at 302 La Rue France, St. 200, Lafayette, LA, 70508.
