D’Ella Rita Comeaux Foreman, 95, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at St. Edmond Catholic Church. Reverend Joseph Campion will officiate. Burial will be in Indian Bayou Cemetery at 1:00 PM. D’Ella was born in 1929 to the late Honoré Comeaux and Anise Montey. She was a longtime resident of Abbeville for 40 years before moving to Lafayette, where she spent the remainder of her life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy D. Foreman, Sr., and her loving son-in-law, Richard Ellis. She is survived by her eight children: Jane Johnson and husband Dave Michael Foreman, MD and wife Sara Miriam Ellis Jimmy Foreman, Jr. Eileen Bonner and husband Frank Rita McCrary and husband Douglas Annette Judge and husband Robert Yvette Kleinpeter and husband David She also leaves behind 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Dolores Salvo. D’Ella dedicated 30 years of her life as a librarian at Delcambre High School, where she passionately fostered a love of learning in generations of students. She was an early advocate for computers in education, recognizing their potential long before they became standard in classrooms. She strongly believed in the power of knowledge and was devoted to shaping young minds. Beyond her professional life, she was a pillar of family traditions, hosting Sunday meals for her loved ones, ensuring that her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She was admired for her strength of spirit and was an avid gardener who found peace in nature. She also enjoyed numerous creative pursuits, including silk flower arranging, painting, ceramics, and découpage. The visitation will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support received during this time.
