Daniel Dave Domingue

Funeral Services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 11:30 AM, at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Daniel Dave Domingue, 72, who passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Reverend Justino Estoque, Associate Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Daniel Domingue, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Eric Domingue of Scott, LA and the former Rena Boudreaux of Sulphur, LA. Dan graduated from Scott High School in 1954. He was a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1954 to 1960. Mr. Domingue received his Land Surveyor's license in 1964 and was employed by Louisiana State Department of Public Works for 32 years. After retirement he was self-employed for 20 years with CADO, Inc. Dan was a member of the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors since 1993 and was selected Vice Chairman of Lafayette Chapter, District 3 from 2000 to present. Dan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lafayette and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. His greatest passion was the Freddie Pate Country Music Jamboree at the Strand Theatre in Jennings, La. The family wishes to thank them for giving daddy so much joy. He is probably playing the steel guitar in heaven. The family would like to acknowledge Richard Comeaux and Milton Guilbeaux for sharing their passion and talent of the Steel Guitar with daddy. Dan's hobbies included music, singing, dancing, playing the guitar and piano, computers and anything electronic. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Constantin Domingue; Three Daughters and their spouses, Becky Domingue Garrett and Marvin of Dallas, TX; Teri Domingue Manry and Gregory (Grizz) of Kingwood, TX; Sharon Domingue Cruice and Bradley; Two sons, Douglas "Doug" Domingue and his wife Laurie and Shane Domingue. Eleven grandchildren, Dana Garrett Sloane and husband Jeff, Tracy Garrett, Brian Garrett, Simone Manry, Katie Manry, Tyler Manry, Britain Domingue, Karli Domingue, Ambry Cruice, Victoria Cruice and Abigail Cruice; Two great-grandchildren, Michael and Hannah Sloane; One sister, Margaret Domingue Battle; One brother-in-law, Jim Dupuis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sandra Domingue Dupuis; one granddaughter Brittany Elizabeth Domingue and one brother-in-law, Judd Battle. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, August 15, 2008 from Friday from 11:00am to 8:00pm and will continue on Saturday from 9:00am until services. A rosary will be prayed on Friday evening at 6:00pm by his first cousin Deacon Michael Clark at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette. Pallbearers will be Douglas Domingue, Grizz Manry, Brian Garrett, Britain Domingue, Marvin Garrett, Bradley Cruice, Tyler Manry and his nephew Michael Dupuis.
