David Brian Domingue

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church for David Brian Domingue, 59, who passed away on June 23, 2025. Reverend Ken Domingue, Pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Cankton, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Brian Taylor will con-celebrate. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. David Brian Domingue, affectionately known as “Bu-Boutte” by his friends was born August 21, 1965, in Lafayette LA. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend. David was a graduate of Lafayette High School, class of 1983. He proudly served in the Army National Guard of Louisiana. He attended USL and was in the Fraternal Order of Kappa Alpha. He worked as a cameraman for KATC-TV3 before his job in advertising and then oilfield sales. His work ethic and dedication earned him the respect of all who worked with him. He was passionate about his career and was committed to both the people and the work that shaped his journey, but it was his relationships that truly defined him. In his spare time, he helped with and served on the AADE and Lafayette Oilmen’s Committees. He was married to the love of his life, Kelly McNeely for 24 years. They built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. They had four sons who meant the world to him. As a father he was his son’s biggest supporter, whether he was coaching their sports teams, cheering them on from the sidelines or offering words of wisdom when they needed it the most. He was incredibly proud of each of his children. He was a St. Genevieve School supporter and later a Teurling’s High School supporter. He was a faithful parishioner at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. He was a kind man who never met a stranger, with a kind and giving heart that drew many to him throughout his life. He was a friend to everyone. Everyone knew Boutte and loved him. If there was a party, he was in the middle of it, if there wasn’t a party, he’d call a bunch of friends and start one. A man of deep Catholic faith, David lived a life of humility and service. His faith was a constant source of strength, particularly during his long hard-fought battle with leukemia. Even in the face of illness, David remained positive, hopeful and deeply grateful for the love and care surrounding him. His courage and unshakeable spirit was an inspiration to all who knew him. David leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and an enduring smile that will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed by his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Leonard Alsfeld and the staff of Ochsner MD Anderson in New Orleans, Dr. Philippe Prouet, his staff and everyone in the infusion lab at Ochsner Cancer Center of Acadiana. David "Bu-Boutte", a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Joseph Melvin Domingue and the former Margaret Thibodeaux. He is survived by his wife, Kelly McNeely Domingue; children, Dillon McNeely and wife, Jamie, Carson Domingue, Brennan Domingue, and Thomas Domingue; mother, Margaret Thibodeaux Patin; step-mother, Emma Lou Domingue; sister, Pam Domingue Sanford and wife, Christina and brother, Father Ken Domingue. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Dudley J. Patin; sister, Wonnie Domingue Boehnlein and brother, Bubba Wayne Domingue. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dillon McNeely, Carson Domingue, Brennan Domingue, Thomas Domingue, Andrew Walker, and Jason Domingue. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, The Cancer Center at Ochsner, Ochsner MD Anderson, New Orleans, and Ochsner 8 West for their care and compassion.
