David Zeller

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Delhomme Funeral Home in the Chapel of Flowers for David Louis Zeller, 44, who passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. His pastor, Reverend Derek Weber, will conduct the funeral services. David, a resident of Youngsville, was the son of the late Kirk and Mary Colleen Zeller. Born in 1979, he was the apple of their eye. As a child he was introverted, kept to himself, and kept close to his younger brother, Steven. However, as the years passed, he developed a larger-than-life personality and the sense of humor to go with it. A student of Lafayette High School and Eagle Christian Academy, David was known for strong opinions as well as deep values. He enjoyed spending time along the banks of Butte La Rose, loved all things music and gaming, and was a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan. The vast majority of his business management career was spent in the food industry, which allowed him to travel the country. It was such an opportunity that led David to meet the love of his life, Elizabeth, in beautiful Myrtle Beach. After moving back to his hometown, they welcomed the apple of their eye, Anthony, into the world. A member of The Pentecostals of Lafayette, he drew on his knowledge of music, technology and electronics to serve in many areas of the church, from video and audio production to youth ministry and more. David is survived by his adoring wife Elizabeth Cortes Zeller; son, Anthony M. Zeller; brother, Steven Zeller and his wife Sevie; nieces Kiah and Ani Zeller, Edelin Jimenez, Amanda Jimenez, Dulce Jimenez, and Abril de la Cruz; and nephews; Greyson Zeller, Axl Silva, Ever Elias, Carlos Jimenez, Omar Cruz, Geovanny de la Cruz, Steven de la Cruz, Jhony de la Cruz, Angel and Homero de la Cruz. He will be missed dearly by all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Kirk Louis Zeller and Mary Colleen Garbarino Zeller of Lafayette; maternal grandmother, Lois Hayes Dupuy and husband Lucien of Butte La Rose; and paternal grandparents, Wallace Zeller and former Florence Markham of New Iberia. He honored their memories his entire life. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, January 26,2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visiting will continue on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
