Debra Lynn Duckworth Todaro

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette for Debra Lynn Duckworth Todaro, 55, who passed away on July 12, 2009 at 8:47 am at her residence. Reverend Luis Dutra will conduct the prayer service. Debra, a resident of Arnaudville, LA, spent her childhood growing up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and graduated from Sweet Briar College outside of Lynchburg, Va. Debra will be greatly missed by each person whose heart she touched. She will always be remembered for her generosity, her gift of laughter and the love she showed to her family and friends. Although Debra did not have children, she always treated her nephews and nieces like they were her own children. She was the first to unselfishly offer her love and support as a care-giver. We can now find comfort in knowing that Debra is in the arms of her Heavenly Father as He is our Ultimate Giver of love and care. Debra was a loving, good, kind, and warm human being who will be missed a lot. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Carlos Todaro of Arnaudville, LA, her mother Sarah L. Duckworth of Tampa, FL, brother Ralph E. Duckworth, Jr. and wife Jan of Pittsburgh, PA, two sisters Laura D. Wittish and husband Phillip of Tampa, FL and Marybeth Meyers of Columbia, SC, mother-in-law, Rosalie Todaro of Lafayette, LA, whom she loved dearly, her brother-in-law, Eugene Todaro, Sr. and wife Sonia of Lafayette, brother-in-law Marcello Todaro and wife Susan of San Rafael, CA, her cousins, Blaise and Estelle of Kenner, LA, Carlos and Clara of Kenner, LA, Elio and Paula of New Orleans, and Russell and Jonnie of Opelousas, LA and numerous nephews and nieces and her boxer, Bella. Debra also left behind a host of freinds and neighbors who valued her friendship highly such as Ron Feraci, Lucy Tankinton, Judy Lindels, Dalton Howard, Nick Pierce, Corey Dodge, Carson and Martha Lane, Jenny and Herb and many others whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph E. Duckworth and her beloved dogs, Bailey the boxer and Coco the labrador. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 4:00 pm until the time of services and will continue after the service until 8:00 pm at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette.
