Delores Martarona

Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Delores Ann Breaux Martarona, 79, who passed away on August 19, 2012 at 7:59 am at Pelican Pointe. Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Martarona, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Moise Breaux of Arnaudville, Louisiana and the former Enola Geoffroy of Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. She was a member of St. Genevieve Church. Delores enjoyed family functions, her grandchildren and shopping for arts and crafts and especially spending time with her loving husband, Santo. She had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, and loved to say the rosary in her neighborhood rosary group. Delores was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Santo Martarona; two daughters, Jennie Larriviere and her husband Bernie of Lafayette, LA, and Jackie Rowe of Lafayette, LA; two sons, James Martarona of Lafayette, LA, and John Martarona and wife Lisa of Carencro; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Monday evening at 7:00 pm. Our deepest heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff at Pelican Pointe Rehab/Nursing Home for the tender and loving care they provided to our mom and family. Also a deep heartfelt thank you also to Hospice of Acadiana for their help and guidance. Pallbearers will be James Martarona, John Martarona, Bernie Larriviere, Kevin Larriviere, Matthew Larriviere, Jacob Martarona, and Reagan Rowe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnathon Champagne, Mike Comeaux, Justin Borne, Paul Argenbright, Frank Martarona and Danny Greenwell.
