Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. Dorothy Faye Roberts, 82, who passed away on July 28, 2018 at Maison de Lafayette. Deacon Randy Hyde, brother-in-law of Mrs. Roberts will conduct the funeral services with musical accompaniment by Valerie Andrus. Reading from scripture will be Josie Roberts and Jeanne Parent. Gift bearers will be Andree Seaux and Ruby Roberts. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy, a native of Simmesport and a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Alto Hamlett and the former Delta Rabalais. Mrs. Dorothy was a Pharmaceutical Technician for over 10 years at Thrifty Way Pharmacy on Moss St. She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, visiting the casinos, and playing Bourre'. Her most cherished role was mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved all of her family and friends, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sister, Violet Hurst (Don) of Central, brother Steven Hamlett (Janet) of Sunset and Bobby Hamlett (Beverly) of Kaplan, Sister-in-law Jane Roberts of Lafayette and brother-in-law Deacon Randy Hyde of Lafayette; her children, Margaret Karam (David) of Florida, Charles Roberts (Kerry), Janet Aymond (William) and Danny Roberts (Lisa) of Lafayette; grandchildren, Lindsey Pierret, Jacob Pierret, John David Karam, Philip Karam, Justin Roberts, Jeanne Parent, Andree Seaux, Grant Aymond, Emily Aymond, Josie Roberts, Lily Roberts, Jacques Roberts and Ruby Roberts, fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marvin Roberts; her daughter, Susan Ruth Pierret; her parents Alto and Delta Hamlett; her sisters Zora Hamlett, Julia Aucoin, Mary Simmons; her brother Alto “Buddy” Hamlett. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30PM on Monday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Tuesday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Lindsey Pierret, Justin Roberts, Grant Aymond, Emily Aymond, Lily Roberts, and Jacques Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are Dorothy’s great grandchildren.
