Drake Ryan Upton

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 P. M. on Monday, May 8, 2023, in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, Louisiana for Drake Ryan Upton, 19, who passed away on May 2, 2023. Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Pastor, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice, Louisiana. Drake was a graduate of Ovey Comeaux High School from the Class of 2022 and was employed by Patriot Construction as an equipment operator. He was passionate about spending time with friends, family, and his beloved dog, Kane. Drake was such an outgoing, free- spirited, lover- of- life who always made a point to befriend everyone that crossed his path. Drake had a unique and fun personality that would light up every room.....and dance floor. He will be remembered by his strong confidence, wonderful soul, warm heart, contagious laugh, and beautiful smile that could make anyone's day brighter. Drake, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of Richard Upton and the former Jennifer Turner. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Turner Dronet and husband, Louis; father, Richard Upton and wife, Adrea; siblings, Bayleigh, Alyssa, Demi, Aly, and Asa; paternal grandmother, JaLane Upton; maternal great grandmother, Laura Broussard; step grandparents, Adonna and Bryan Trahan, and Bradley Dronet. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilfred "T-Boy" and Marietta Turner; paternal grandfather, Richard "Ricky" Upton, and step grandmother, Doris Dronet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 Noon. Pallbearers will be Richard Upton, Louis Dronet, Asa Upton, Jason Turner, Jace Turner, Paxton Gardiner, Brennen Clark, and Aiden Els. Honorary Pallbearers will be Caiden Trosclair and Ross Menard. As an example of Drake's kindness, his final act of generosity was fulfilled by being a LOPA tissue donor. His families would like to thank all emergency responders, the caring staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, Drake's personal angels who stayed with him, and all those who have prayed and continue to support Drake's families.
