Elaine Durand Langlinais

Funeral Services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Elaine Langlinais, 83, who passed away on March 15, 2011 at 8:00 pm at her residence in the presence of her daughter and her caregiver. Reverend Cyprian Eze will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Langlinais, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Walter Robert Durand of Algiers, Louisiana and the former Annette Marie of Algiers, Louisiana. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge, and cooking for her family and friends. She was a loving grandmother, mother, and sister. She is survived by one daughter, Laura Ann Langlinais Turpin and her husband, Gary Michael of Scott; four sons, Ronnie Louis Langlinais and his wife, Rhonda of Lafayette, Ricky Joseph Langlinais of Lafayette, Glenn David Langlinais and his wife, Liz of Lafayette, and Larry Edward Langlinais of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy "Dot" Whitecotton of Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude "C.J." Joseph Langlinais, Jr.; one sister, Jeanne Frensley; and one brother, Walter Durand. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continue on Monday from 8:00 am to the time of service. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jared Langlinais, Stephen Langlinais , Joseph Langlinais, Luke Langlinais, Jason Turpin, and Gary Turpin. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mrs. Langlinais to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503 or the charity of your choice.
