Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 3:30 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Elina Broussard, 92, who passed away at her residence Saturday, September 27, 2008 Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Mrs. Broussard, a resident of Lafayette Parish, was the daughter of the late John M. Broussard of Maurice, Louisiana and the former Therzille Dronet of Maurice, Louisiana. She was born in Maurice, but resided in Biloxi, MS for 26 years before moving back to Maurice in 1960. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, a member of St. Michael's Mothers Club of Biloxi, MS, and St. Alphonsus Altar Society of Maurice, She is survived by one son, Weston 'Bruce' Broussard and his wife Mildred of Lafayette; three daughters, Deanna B. Bourliea and her husband Milton, Lenora B. Touchet and her husband Robert, all from Lafayette and Thelma B. Roberts of Bioloxi, MS, two sisters, Ella B. Faulk and Thersa B. Broussard and one brother Issac Broussard. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grand children and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years,Cliffey Broussard, 4 brothers, Alphesus, Zenon, Edward, John Eli and 4 sisters Edma Racca, Jeanne Broussard, Emella Touchet and Laura Duhon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continue Monday from 10:00 am to the time of service. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Dwight Broussard, Greg Broussard, Kevin Touchet, Milton Bourliea, Jr., Kerry Roberts and James Roberts, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will include Steven Roberts, Cliffey Roberts, and Bane Luquette.
