Ella Mae Landry

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Ella Mae Landry, 87, who passed away at 9:15 am on March 31, 2012 at Our Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette. Reverend Howard Blessing, pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Musicians shall be Richard Comeaux and Yvette Landry. Burial will take place in Kaplan Cemetery. Ella had been a member of the Holy Cross Ladies Altar Sodality for about 30 years. She and her husband Avery, a WWII veteran, were active members of the VFW and also served as officers. She enjoyed Pokeno with the same group of friends for 35 years. She was close to all of her pet dogs throughout her life and also enjoyed planting and caring for her plants and flowers and loved music and dancing. Her family will miss all of the delicious meals that she cooked and deserts that she baked. Survivors include her only daughter, Patricia Gaspard Lege and her husband Garland Lege of Lafayette, LA; eight grandchildren, Neal Gardon Lege and his wife Lisa of Iota, LA, Todd Avery Lege of Lafayette, LA, David Myles Lege and his wife Sandra of Youngsville, LA; Sheree Angele Comeaux of Scott, LA, Michael John Vidalier and his wife Jennifer of New Iberia, LA, Cynthia Marie Evans and her husband Roland of Jacksonville FL, Jennifer Walker and husband Terry of Missouri, and Deborah Vidalier of Texas; nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ned Gaspard, her second husband Avery Manceaux, her third husband Ignace Landry, her mother, Azelema Landry Harrington, her father Elier Landry, one daughter Lollie June Guidry and one brother, Euel John Landry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday April 1, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Vidalier, Neal Lege, Todd Lege, David Lege, Stefan Comeaux, Spencer Comeaux and Mitchell Lege. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Paramount Hospice, and the staff at Our Lady of the Oaks and Maison de Lafayette.
