Erdie L. Leblanc

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Erdie LeBlanc, 71, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 9:30 am surrounded by family and friends at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Todd Menard, Pastor of Family Life Church, will conduct the funeral services and be assisted by Reverend Rob Miller and Reverend Terrell Reed. Musicians will include Brad Anderson and Karen Broussard. Musical selections will include "Amazing Grace", "Because He Lives", and "How Great Thou Art". Burial will take place in Evangeline Memorial Gardens. Mrs. LeBlanc, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Ed Louis LeBlanc of Acadia Parish, Louisiana and the former Estella Guilbeaux of Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Erdie resided in Lafayette, LA and was a member of Family Life Church. She courageously battled aplastic anemia for over two years and was an inspiration and example of strength to all who knew her. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and medical staff who lovingly cared for her. She will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Pearlin LeBlanc of Lafayette; one son, Randy P. LeBlanc and wife, Cindy, of Edmond, OK; one daughter, Cheryl Anne Sonnier and husband, Tim, of Scott; five grandchildren, Steven Blake LeBlanc and wife, Stephanie, Jessica Renee LeBlanc, Hunter Joseph Sonnier, Timothy Joseph Sonnier, Jr., and Lauren Jade Sonnier; one sister, Ruby Cormier of Lafayette; one brother, Leo "Blackie" LeBlanc of Sulphur; one sister-in-law, Eldine LeBlanc of Lafayette; her godfather, Elton Guilbeau of Orange, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and godmother, Laura Arceneaux; and one brother, Donna LeBlanc; nephew, Ronald Arceneaux; and four infant children. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 9:00 am until service time.
