Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 21, 2008 at a Mass of Christian Burial in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Ernest M. 'Buddy' Lambert, 79, who died at Southwest Medical Center July 18, 2008 at 11:23 p.m. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael's Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Musical selections will be provided by Bess Trahan. Interment will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lambert was born to Bernice K. Lambert and Beatrice Laura Williams Lambert on May 10, 1929 in Crowley, LA. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Philips Petroleum Co. as a Landman, and later was an Independent Landman, and worked in real estate. He was a devoted UL fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of St. Edmond's Catholic Church where he served as a lector. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was affectionately known as 'Dubby' to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie Chitty Lambert, one daughter, Laura Lambert Bowden of Dallas, TX; his brother-in-law, Kenny Chitty (whom he raised) and his wife, Beverly and their children, Brent, Brandon, Kevin and Kellie; four grandchildren, Codi Bowden, Brandy Bowden Collard and her husband, Chase, Marc Bowden and Taylor Bowden; two great grandchildren Zayzee and Kyer Collard of Utah; one brother, Jack Lambert and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Johnny Lambert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continue Monday from 8:00 am to service time. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Brent Chitty, Brandon Chitty, Kevin Chitty, Jack Lambert, Jr., Jay Lambert and Keith Thibodeaux.
