Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Frank Williams, 87, who passed away on May 16, 2011 at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Richard Humphries, Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sabine County, TX. Mr. Williams, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Williams and the former Jessie Neal, both of Sabine County, Texas. Frank was a very caring person. His family and friends were a treasure to him. He liked nothing more than having a family gathering or having lunch with friends. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of pride and love. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a proud veteran who served in the South Pacific in World War II. He made one of the first honor flights to Washington D.C. He retired from Amoco Oil Company in 1983 from a job that he loved. After his retirement, he and Belle enjoyed traveling. He was a Mason and a Shriner, and he lovingly transported many children to the Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Belle Williams; two daughters, Patsy Williams and Frankey Dickerson and husband Coy Dickerson; one son, Ray Williams and wife Joan Williams all of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Shawn Williams of Newcastle, CO, Casey Dickerson and wife Allison of Lafayette, LA, Tracy Luckhardt and husband Rob of Birmingham, AL, Rebecca McMillan of Lafayette, LA, Joshua Williams and wife Crystal of Lafayette, LA and Jason Dickerson and wife Jessica of Austin, TX; five great grandchildren, Hannah and Christopher Dickerson, Skye Williams, Lucy Dickerson and Evie Luckhardt; two brothers, Ben Williams and Charles Williams and wife Glenda, all of Milam, TX and one nephew, Roger Williams and wife Doris of Milam, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Williams and two nephews, Doug and Richie Williams. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at 10:00 am until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Shawn Williams, Joshua Williams, Casey Dickerson, Jason Dickerson, Robert Luckhardt and Coy Dickerson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Albert Steen, Forrest Sadler, Barney Foreman and Norm Price. The family would like to thank Drs. Maurice Sullivan, Patrick Welch, Dwayne Brown, Jay Culotta, the late Kenneth Entes, and the staff at Lafayette General Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for their loving care.
