Gerald J. Robin

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Gerald J. Robin, Sr., 71, who passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home in Scott. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Robin was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and worked in many capacities, since he was 13 years old, for the Delhomme Ambulance Company and then Delhomme Funeral Home, Inc. He proudly served as a member of the Louisiana National Guard; was an avid fisherman; enjoyed Cajun Music and Dancing with his wife, Linda; and loved pets, especially his dog, Otis, who he spoiled terribly. He was a car enthusiast and a day didn't go by when he wasn't attending to his vehicles. Gerald was a family man and cherished the moments he spent with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends; the Delhomme Family and all of his coworkers; and many people throughout the Acadiana area. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda Thibodeaux Robin; one son, Gerald J. "Bubba" Robin, Jr.; six sisters, Barbara Goudeaux, Diane Williamson, Audrey Fontenot, Linda Wells, Michelle Toney and Jeanne Verret; and one brother, David Richard. He was preceded in death by Elie and Alice Thibodeaux Robin; and two sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Alvin Dugas, Ernest Roger, Mike Strong, Huey Smith, Jason Vidrine and Chris LaFleur. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald J. "Bubba" Robin, Jr. and Duane Delhomme.
