Geraldine "Jerry" Logan

Geraldine “Jerry” Logan, 88, passed away (went home to Our Lord) Monday evening July 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by her family. The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 9:00AM until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Reverend Louis Richard will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Geraldine was preceded in death by her brothers Robert (Bobby) Provost, Charles Provost, and Faye Provost White. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Thomas W. Logan Sr. who remained by her side as primary caregiver throughout a lengthy illness; two daughters, Kathleen Logan Fontenot (Mark), Susan Logan Snoddy (Jerry); two sons, Thomas W. Logan Jr. (Linda), and Kenneth Patrick Logan (Carrie); 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Jerry was born in Lafayette on July 21, 1929 to Robert Provost and the former Rose Aimee Moss. Much of her early life was spent moving with family throughout Louisiana and Texas during the oil discoveries of the 30’s and 40”s. Her family later settled in Bosco La. and Jerry graduated from Sunset High School in 1947. Moving to Lafayette, she married the love of her life, Thomas W. Logan Sr. on April 30, 1949 and became a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished time spent with family. Following years as a homemaker, Jerry rekindled her career as a legal secretary and was eventually employed by the Lafayette Clerk of Court O.C. “Dan” Guilliot. While serving as administrative assistant to the Clerk of Court, Jerry played a key role in collecting and cataloging thousands of images and photographs to be published in “Images de Lafayette” a pictorial history of the city. Many of these images can be viewed throughout numerous local social media sources. Following retirement from the Clerk’s office Jerry spent many years traveling the 48 states and Canada making many friends along the way. She lived a long, happy, and productive life and through it all remained in Our Lord, Jesus Christ and kept him close to her heart. Pallbearers will be Ben Logan, Mark Logan, Sean Snoddy, Michael Fontenot, Logan Fontenot, and Jeremy Roan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice. A heartfelt appreciation is extended to Laura Mae Lawrence and Clay Duplechin who provided special care during Jerry’s illness and to all the doctors and staff at Lourdes Hospital who were so thoughtful, caring, and supporting of Jerry and her family.
