Gilfred J. Credeur

A Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Delhomme Funeral Home in Scott, LA for Gilfred John Credeur, 83, who passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:10 pm at his residence, surrounded by his 10 children. Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, LA will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Jamey Touchet and Beverly Credeur. Altar servers will be two of his great grandchildren Emma and Tate Simon Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Gilfred, a resident of Scott, was the son of the late Onezime Credeur and the former Belzire Trahan. Gilfred a native of Rayne attended Rayne High School, and at the age of seventeen joined the United States Army serving in WWII as an automotive mechanic stationed in Japan. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing cards, and gardening. His most treasured time was cooking for his large family and friends. His unexpected visits will be dearly missed, by his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Danny Credeur and wife Patti; his daughter, Cathy Badeaux and husband Bobby; daughter, Rhonda Touchet and husband John; daughter, Janet Johnson and husband Wayne; daughter, Brenda Richard and companion Eric; son, Jeff Credeur and wife Rhonda; son, Vernon Credeur and wife Renee'; daughter, Kellie Guilbeau and husband Greg; daughter, Dana Mhire and husband Patrick; and daughter, Christy Leblanc and husband Gerard; his twenty three grandchildren; and twenty two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty eight years Mary Joyce Comeaux, his sisters, Ida Leon, Della Chiasson, Medice Waguespack, Edesse Credeur, Vina Miller and Bernice Credeur. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home Scott on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013 in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be his six son-in-laws Bobby Badeaux, John Touchet, Wayne Johnson, Greg Guilbeau, Patrick Mhire, Gerard Leblanc.
